Well, when applied to a musical unit and the upheaval of half of their lineup, results are not often for the better. Proving the statistics wrong though, the Pasadena, Calif. based four-piece Limitpoint are rocking faces off with a new guitarist and drummer, and new energy to match. With influences ranging from rock pillars such as the Foo Fighters to Green Day to modern successes Saves the Day and Jimmy Eat World, the band is set to get fans across the rock spectrum addicted to their upbeat but thoughtful take on the genre. Having played on Warped Tour and also shared the stage separately with such bands as Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Midtown, Sparta, Something Corporate, the Vandals, the Ataris, and Autopilot Off over the years, they've earned a fanbase spanning across the country and are proving they've got the experience to start making waves in the modern rock scene. Started in the summer of 1999 as a three piece, Limitpoint began recording and playing shows overnight. Joining up with a new guitar player, they ventured on their first tour ever in 2001 with Save Ferris. At the time the band had no idea what they were in for but after two months of extensive touring they realized what they loved the most: playing shows and working hard at writing records. From there the band found success in specialty and major alternative radio across the nation and joined the Vans Warped Tour in 2002, where they sold over 3,000 copies of their first EP, We Call This Life. For over two weeks the band performed on the Criterion Records stage as well as the Kevin Says stage, for which tour founder Kevin Lyman personally picks the bands that will play. In early 2003, Limitpoint parted ways with some members, subsequently finding Eric, through a mutual friend, and Brooke, who had known the band and was a fan himself. With their two new additions, the band started writing their newest and most accomplished effort yet, Wishes Of The Subconscious, which they just completed and is currently for sale online, to be officially released in October. Limitpoint is proud of their first full length album, having toured on their new music and direction nationally and will continue to do so as long as there is someone listening. | |||||||||||
